Susto is no stranger to 5 Points after 5, they’ve found their way onto the monthly lineup once a year, usually opening for another bigger band. This year things are a little different, as they’ve grown in popularity and return the favor to opening band Sydney Eloise and the Palms out of Atlanta, who too are on the rise. This will be SE & the Palms first trip to Columbia, and their music should be a perfect fit for the outdoor event. Heavily influenced by pop from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, those stylings seep into their music, mixing them with the more modern influences that they grew up with. Their summer fresh style has garnered attention from major media outlets like NPR and Paste to name a few, and deservedly so. With a listen to their latest album their easy to fall for.

Charleston band Susto headline the event with a load of new songs in tow as they gear up for the release of their follow up album later this year or the first of next year. They’ve been testing those songs out live, testing them for both local audiences and a wide range of folks on the road. One of their biggest reasons for success is tied to their commitment to the road. They’ve toured non stop since they’ve released their debut album, watching crowds grow steadily in each town. Last week they opened for Of Monsters and Men in Raleigh. It’s big shows like these that are now every day.
