Nyamsaikhan Odsuren is from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. He is currently pursuing his D.M.A in Orchestral Conducting at the University of South Carolina under Dr. Donald Portnoy. Mr. Odsuren started playing violin from age 7 at the Music and Dance School in Ulaanbaatar. A prize winner from the National Youth String Competition, he represented his country at International Music Festivals in Turkey, China, and Russia. He performed tour concerts in Austria, Slovenia, and Italy while attending the United World College of the Adriatic as a Music Scholar in Duino, Italy. Mr. Odsuren is a recipient of the UWC Davis Scholarship to attend Methodist University and was also awarded the W.C. Gates Music Award. He received his MM from East Carolina University under Ara Gregorian in violin, Dr. Jorge Richter in conducting and participated in the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival regularly. During his studies in Columbia SC, Mr. Odsuren has collaborated with artists such as Philip Bush, and more.
