Phill Eason is the current Instrumental Music Teacher at Nursery Road Elementary School-Arts Magnet in Lexington-Richland School District 5 in Irmo, SC. Phill is a multi-instrumentalist in this role, teaching drum set, guitar, piano, ukulele, and running a full recording studio for the school’s Arts Integrated curriculum. Phill’s passion and main instrument is drum set, which he has been playing since he was a small child.
Phill was a founding member and drummer of the national touring band Sol Driven Train, based in Charleston, SC, where he played venues and music festivals all over the country, along with extensive recording. He left that band to raise a family, but is returning to the music scene as his children have aged. Prior, Phill studied Jazz Performance on drum set with Quentin Baxter (Ranky Tanky) at College of Charleston. He was also the Clemson Big Band Jazz drummer all four years of his undergrad at Clemson and received Departmental Honors in Fine Arts his senior year. Currently, Phill is also a percussion instructor and sound engineer for the Chapin High School Marching Band and continues to write and record out of his home studio.
Whether a beginning percussionist working on rudiments for symphonic or marching band, or a drum set player trying to polish your technique in any genre, Phill has the playing, recording, and teaching experience to help you reach your goals.
