Zhao is an active solo and collaborative pianist in the world. He has performed solo and chamber recitals in China, the United States, and Italy. Zhao has been rewarded with the Gold Prize in the Chinese Young Musician Competition (2010), the Piano Achievement Award at Texas State University School of Music, and one of the four finalists at the Texas State Concerto and Aria Competition (2021).

Zhao started teaching the piano in 2020, and his students include a high diversity of ages and backgrounds. Zhao believes every student is individual and unique, and he is good at setting individual learning plans for each student. The primary goal of Zhao’s teaching is to help students enjoy piano learning while firmly growing with skills and musicality.
