Ross Swinson is a guitar, bass, and ukulele instructor who grew up in Columbia.  He has been teaching music full time since 2018, and is the owner of the Cayce Freeway Music branch that opened in April 2022.  Ross’s teaching strength lies in his versatility and his ability to help students find what truly inspires them about music!

Ross’s musical education started with piano lessons at age 7, before eventually taking up the guitar at age 14.  In 2012, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Belmont University, where he studied classical guitar and jazz under Jefferson Rogers, Mark Godwin, John Pell, and Michael Valeras.  When he is not teaching, Ross enjoys writing and recording music, performing with friends in and around Columbia, and continuing to learn more about the guitar every day!
