David has been playing piano for 60 years and has been teaching piano lessons for almost 30 years. David started learning piano at the age of 8. He went on to study Music at the Berklee School of Music in Bostom and later at the Navy School of Music.

He joined the Navy and where he served for six years before landing in South Carolina. He has been in Columbia ever since. David played piano with local legend, Skip Pearson, and countless other cover bands around town before deciding to teach piano lessons at Freeway Music. Dave’s favorite genre of music is Jazz, however, he loves to educate his students on how to play any and all genres of music. His biggest influences are Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, and John Coltrane.
